What Does the New Human Rights Legislation Mean for People of Colour

“The McGuinty government’s recent legislation to “modernize” Ontario’s human rights system has now been forwarded for second reading in the Legislature.  The new model is purported to be a more open, accessible and faster complaint resolution process, where applications are made directly to the Human Rights Tribunal for adjudication.  This eliminates the Commissions’ investigation and compliance functions which have been in place for forty years.”
